I'm Mark Houston, a professional photography based in Ferndale Michigan. I specialize Corporate, Editorial and Industrial photography.
I got to spend some time in Pittsburgh PA. over the weekend. What a great town, beautiful architecture , nice people, interesting driving (not for the meek).
Unfortunately, my wife and I had a very limited time to explore Pittsburgh, so we started with a trip to the Duquesne Incline. The inclines takes you from banks of the Ohio River to the top Coal Hill for a spectacular view of Pittsburgh ( I you haven’t already, click on the panorama image at the top of the post.).
In August my wife and I were invited to a unique party by our good friend Mary Zatina, the Diner en Blanc. Part fine dining, part flash mob. No one knows who organizers it, just a simply email announcing the time a place and you show up with your food and drink, tables, chairs and friends and enjoy the evening, oh yeah you gotta wear white ( I looked like Bibendum ). This years event was held at Ernie Harwell Park, the site of the former Tiger Stadium.
This years party had some attention from the media, whenTom Daldin of Michigan Under the Radar and his crew and did a story about the event. I’m in the video, look for me I’m the guy in white with a white hat.
Now that the Detroit City Council (or Clowncil ) have once again rejected a offer from the State of Michigan to take over Belle Isle Park, and has come up with its own 10 year plan, We can now look forward to this once beautiful park to fall further into neglect and disrepair. I can’t say the State of Michigan taking over the Belle Isle is the best solution, but is a damn sight better then anything the Detroit City Council has or will come up with, why I’m I sure….because the City of Detroit has NO MONEY.
I have always wanted to stop and take a photos of this silo. I’ve driven by it dozens of time when I have work up in St.Clair, Michigan but the light was never really right. Got lucky on a really foggy morning this week, the silo just pop out of the background.
