You never know what your are going to find in the woods of northern Michigan.
During my son’s spring break, the family headed up- north for a little R&R . Spent some time walking on South Beach near Leland, Michigan, in search of Petoskey stones and Leland Blue Stone. This is one of my favorite stretch of beach in Michigan.
So it was 11:30 am on a Friday, we are in Traverse City, Michigan, the weather is a little rainy and chilly. The sun is suppose to make a appearance later in the afternoon (it did not), what to do?
My wife sez, lets go taste some whiskey, who am I to say no.
A few minutes later, my spouse and I find ourselves at the Grand Traverse Distillery
The Grand Traverse Distillery is famous for it True North Vodka, they also make whiskey, several whiskeys actually and I tasted them all. My favorite was the Bourbon (no big surprise to anyone who knows me) but the Old George Straight Rye was quite good, The 100% Corn Whiskey was everything you could want in a corn whiskey and the Cherry Flavored Whiskey was, well not my thing, my wife like it though.
So if you happen to in Traverse City and are up for something other then tasting wine, I suggest you head over to the Grand Traverse Distillery.
My only real complaint, those damn tasting cups are too small…..:)
